RENTAL AGREEMENT

 

GENERAL

This Rental Agreement is a legal agreement between you (the renter) and Rent For An Event Limited. The agreement was established by us; you use the services that we provide; you order our garments for a fee specified on our website at www.rentforanevent.co.nz

Please read this Rental Agreement before entering or using any part of our website. By entering or using any part of “www.rentforanevent.co.nz”, you agree to be bound by this Rental Agreement. If you do not agree to all of the agreement, you may not use our services.

 

RENTAL FEES

All prices include taxes and are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).

The price of the rental garments does not include shipping prices, this will be added on during your checkout process.

The payment is to be made immediately for your booking to be secure for the date selected. We run by a first in, first served bases. This meaning, if another renter would like the same garment as you for the same date and they pay first, they will secure this date and you will no longer be able to rent the garment for this date.

Bookings are to be paid via our website, www.rentforanevent.co.nz

 

REFUND POLICY 

If the renter decides to not rent their chosen item anymore, whether we have posted it yet or not, we do not offer a refund. This includes event cancellations, change of mind, cancellations due to Covid-19, an item not fitting and / or all other reasoning.

We offer try ons if you are located in Oamaru so you can make sure the item fits you. If the item does not fit the renter or does not 'look right on' when it arrives, we do not offer a refund, as again we may have passed up other opportunities to rent the specific garment out to another person on that specific date.

Please be careful when choosing sizes and items to rent, and do feel free to email us for any additional information on a garment regarding sizing or material etc.

We do offer a 100% refund if the item arrives to the renter damaged or not the same as described on our website (e.g. wrong colour/size) www.rentforanevent.co.nz. However, the renter needs to let us know within 24 hours of receiving the garment and the renter must be willing to send photo evidence of the garment not matching the description. If the renter fails to let us know within 24 hours via email (admin@rentforanevent.co.nz) then we are no longer obliged to give a refund to the renter as we will have assumed you are satisfied with the garment.

Refunds will be given for a fault in the postal system not delivering the item on time, unless ordered after the guideline below. All of our garments are sent out with enough time to arrive (provided they are booked in advance) and with all the correct postal stickers to ensure that they do arrive on time; it is possible however for there to be a delay, in which case a full refund will be given to the renter. This means a renter will be offered a 100% refund if the item arrives AFTER the day you have chosen to rent it for, unless ordered less than 2 full business working days before the booking date. A refund is not offered if it arrives before 5PM on the first day of renting. For example; if you have chosen to rent an item for a Friday, if it arrives Saturday or later, then you will be offered a refund. It it arrives on the Friday before 5PM you will not be granted a refund.

To ensure you would get a refund on a failed delivery, your ordering time must follow the guideline below. Please note: All rural orders must add an extra day.

Monday rental - Must be booked Wednesday prior (before 4pm).
Tuesday rental - Must be booked Thursday prior (before 4pm).
Wednesday rental - Must be booked Friday prior (before 4pm).
Thursday rental - Must be booked Monday prior (before 4pm).
Friday rental - Must be booked Tuesday prior (before 4pm).
Saturday / Sunday rental - Must be booked Wednesday prior (before 4pm).


You will also not be offered a refund if it hasn't been delivered due to no one being home to sign for the package. If there is an attempted delivery by NZ post, no refund will be offered. No refund will also be given if the correct shipping option is not chosen. For example, if you choose regular postage but your address is rural.

COVID-19

Our refund policy remains in place during Covid-19 lockdowns. This means if your event is cancelled / postponed no refund will be given. However, we understand no party is at fault for this so Rent for an Event will give store credit in these instances, so you are able to re-book your chosen garment. If a customers event has been cancelled due to unforeseen Covid-19 restrictions, the customer needs to contact admin@rentforanevent.co.nz to organise a store credit. Store credit lasts for 12 months. Store credit is at the discretion of Rent for an Event.
Please note: If you make a booking while restrictions are already in place (i.e alert levels above level 1) no store credit will be given.

SHIPPING/RETURN

Rentals will be posted Monday through to Friday.

We use New Zealand post as our primary chosen courier, and we only ship within New Zealand. We do not ship internationally. We ship via their "overnight shipping" method, which is a guideline not a promise.

Postage costs are to be paid by you (the renter) and this is $10.00. All garments will arrive with an included prepaid return postage bag. Rural delivery costs $5 extra.

We offer Saturday delivery if you have a last minute order on Friday, however this needs to be ordered before 3PM New Zealand time on Friday. The renter must choose Saturday Delivery as their Postage option during checkout, otherwise the item will not be sent. The reason for this is because Saturday Delivery incurs in an extra cost.

We also offer Rural Delivery, however this will need to be ordered before 3PM Wednesday as Rural delivery takes more time than usual. If you do not have this time, we recommend you use another address that is commercial (for example, your work place.) The renter must choose Rural Delivery as their postage option during checkout, otherwise the item will be sent without rural delivery and the renter will not receive a refund if it doesn't arrive. The reason for this is because Rural Delivery incurs in an extra cost.

Tracking details will be provided to you once we have sent the garment via email, this will be sent to the email you provide when filling out your contact details.

Rentals are to be returned in the prepaid postage bag provided, and to be sent the next working day after your event. Parcels need to be handed over the counter at a New Zealand Post Shop, so the tracking is activated. If the tracking is not activated we will assume the item has not been posted and charge late fees accordingly.

There will be a $20.00 (NZD) late fee per day to be paid by the renter if the item is returned late, this will be based on the time in which the return tracking was activated. 

You (the renter) are solely responsible for the goods being returned on the agreed date.

Should you dishonour this agreement and not pay the amounts due for being late or not returning a rental, we will initiate enforcement procedures under this agreement. Should enforcement procedures be initiated we will claim all costs for the garment against you including all solicitor fees applicable on a client solicitor basis. 

 

PICK UP/DROP OFF

Pick up, and drop off, is free of charge. We are based in Central Oamaru.

If you are dropping the item back to us, we require the item to be returned within two working days. Failure to do so will result in a $20.00 (NZD) penalty per day the item is not returned. 

 

CLEANING/DAMAGES/LOST POLICY

Each rental price includes a dry cleaning fee (if need be.) The price does not cover the cost of reparation for any major damages or stains made by the renter. Any damages to the garment that you have rented (rips, stains, holes, tears etc) will need to be repaired and you (the renter) will be liable to pay for the damage.

If the item is completely ruined and is deemed unable to be rented out again, you (the renter) will be required to pay 150% of the RRP on the garment listed on www.rentforanevent.co.nz. This is to pay for a replacement of the garment, and covers any refunds to people who have booked the item in advance, as they will no longer be able to rent the item until a new one arrives. (Don’t let this scare you off happening as this is a very rare occurrence.) The amount will be discussed on a case by case basis.

Should a garment be lost or misplaced by a customer, you (the renter) are liable to pay 150% of the RRP on the garment listed on www.rentforanevent.co.nz. This is to pay for a replacement of the garment, and covers any refunds to people who have booked the item in advance, as they will no longer be able to rent the item until a new one arrives. This includes being lost in transit when the wrong delivery address is given by the renter.

Should you dishonour this agreement and not pay the amounts due for any damage to a garment, we will initiate enforcement procedures under this agreement. Should enforcement procedures be initiated we will claim all costs for the garment against you including all solicitor fees applicable on a client solicitor basis. 

 

TRY ONS

Try ons are available in Central Oamaru. Bookings for try ons are essential and can be made via email at admin@rentforanevent.co.nz. Try ons are not always available, so are up to Rent for an Event to discuss.

 

OTHER

You agree that any photos you send us of yourself in our garments via email or other social media platforms may appear on our website www.rentforanevent.co.nz or our other social media platforms (Instagram or Facebook)
